The interdisciplinary forum dTHOR offers to young scholars in the broad field of the humanities a platform for exchange and networking, in particular with regard to the promotion of Open Access and digitization in the Humanities. System-immanent barriers and international asymmetries in the access to research and information often obstruct researcher’s daily work. dTHOR offers a low-key detour. The aim of the forum is the cross-disciplinary and -cultural exchange in the academic field of the humanities that is increasingly morphed by transformation processes and digitalization waves of, for example, the empirical material for research in the humanities and social sciences, but especially in the communication modes at large. dTHOR as a network shall help support the projects of its members and develop and implement collaborative concepts and regular workshops at various institutions and locations with individual topical foci.
Das interdisziplinäre Forum dTHOR bietet Nachwuchswissenschaftler/ innen aus dem breiten Feld der Humanities eine Plattform zum Austausch und zur Vernetzung, insbesondere auch im Hinblick auf die Förderung von Open Access und Digitalisierung in den Humanities. Systemimmanente Barrieren und internationale Asymmetrien im Zugang zu Forschung und Informationen stellen Forschende vor viele Hürden im Arbeitsalltag. dTHOR bietet hier einen niederschwelligen Umweg (dTHOR = détour, engl. für Umweg). Erklärtes Ziel des Forums ist daher der disziplinen- und kulturübergreifende Austausch in einem Themenfeld, das zunehmend durch Transformationsprozesse und Digitalisierungsschübe, u. a. der Quellen geistes- und sozialwissenschaftlicher Forschung sowie in ihrer eigenen Kommunikation, in den Fokus geraten ist. dTHOR soll als Netzwerk die Projekte und Ziele seiner Mitglieder unterstützen helfen sowie gemeinsame Konzepte und regelmäßige Workshops, angesiedelt an wechselnden Institutionen und Orten, zu jeweils verschiedenen inhaltlichen Schwerpunkten organisieren und durchführen.
